Have you ever heard of Diabetes?? More than likely you have, and you probably think that is a stupid question right? Well let me tell you, you would be surprised how many people  have heard of it and know a little about it but really don’t understand how serious it is!

Fact is close to 20.8 MILLION Americans, have diabetes and yearly another 1.3 million will be diagnosed with the illness. As a nurse I have seen the worst of the worst, diabetes can affect every system in your body if you do not take care of yourself! Every time I have somebody come in to the E.R.  In a diabetic crisis I’ll ask them, “How in the world did your blood sugar get that high”.  The general response I get is I didn’t know where my glucose monitor was?!?!?!

So I’ve done some research online and found there are several places that will send you monitors for absolutely free all you’ve to do is fill out your insurance/ Medicaid/Medicare information. I mean it is free!! There’s no sense in someone not having the means to test there blood sugar.
